So I don't know what to call this thing. The website says DZ65RGB. The pictures show DZ68RGB. The voices in my head are calling it something completely different and not safe for work. No matter what you call it, this PCB now has clothes to wear!
A 4mm foam layer goes between the PCB and plate to hold that plate in place, keep the noise under control and give your board a bit more solid feeling and keep it from floating away. With all those lights shining out of that keyboard, it kind of looks like it might just float up off of the desk and fly off into space right? No? Maybe it's just me.
Under the PCB, the hotswap sockets are cradled in 2mm foam cut precisely to each socket, stabilizer screw, tall chips and components, etc. Underneath that, a 1mm layer of foam keeps those sockets secure and prevents them from popping loose off of the PCB while providing the finishing touch to completely fill the case cavity with foam.
This comes with another 4mm piece of foam cut to sit in the battery/weight well of the Tofu65 case that so many people seem to use with this PCB. Here is an all in one solution, just like your keyboard wasn't.
I am thoroughly impressed by the improvement this foam combo made. It is hard to type on any of my other keyboards now.
Fit the DZ65RGBv2 PCB and Tofu65 case perfectly and gives great vibration and sound dampening. Would definitely buy again for my next board.
I was concerned about the tolerances of the foam, worried that they might rattle around in the case, but they're actually just a hair thicker than the spaces so once everything is pressed in and screwed down, the foam is compressed just a tiny bit which provides a very snug fit.
As for the feel/sound, it makes for a much more solid feel, and an almost richer sound. No more hollowness or case ping.
10/10 worth it, even though it took a while to get to me.
Bought this for my NK65 v1 to get rid of the terrible case ping. Had to modify it a bit to fit properly but I knew that before buying. Unfortunately, it didn't fully get rid of the ping. I'm not going to knock it down as it's not really meant for this board.
The foam did take a while to arrive but I also knew that. I really appreciate the packing as it keeps the foam straight, unless your mailman decides to completely fold it.
Amazing product my keyboard doesnt have hollow sound anymore. Interesting package every packing paper is a cia case. One con is puttin in switch, you have to fiddle around or it wont go in because of the foam. 10/10 would recommend
My keyboard went from disappointingly pingy to amazing. Honestly, the waiting really wasn't that bad...you get used to it with this hobby.
